COMMUNITY SERVICE

A Community service component is required in each subject in Religion department. It is seen as response to the Christian call to love and service as expressed in the life and words of Jesus Christ.

Scripture (Freshmen): 5 Hours of service with class (contributing to the neighborhood)
Theology (Sophomore): 5 Hours of service contributing to the school.
Christian Morality (Junior): 15 hours of direct service (student’s choice – non-profit organization)
Sacraments and Christian Prayer: 10 hours of direct service (non-profit organization, specific sites given for service)

World Youth Day 2016

Scholarships for World Youth Day 2016!

The Diocese of Bridgeport will award scholarships for World Youth Day July 22-August 2, 2016 in Krakow, Poland!

To obtain a scholarship that will subsidize up to 85% of the pilgrimage, simply follow these steps:

1) fill out the survey on the link below-

2) Write a 500-word essay on why you want to go to WYD 2016 and send it to-
Office of Youth Ministry - WYD 2016

3) Have one adult (pastor, chaplain at school, coach, teacher, youth minister, campus minister, etc) send a letter of recommendation to the address above

4) Send documentation proving that your financial situation requires that you receive a scholarship in order to attend WYD

The Diocese will also help you with fundraising ideas for remaining cost!
