On Thursday, October 1, 2026, the Friends of Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory School and the Gala Committee invite the Kolbe community to The Country Club of New Canaan for the 50th Anniversary Gala: a historic night marking fifty years since Kolbe Cathedral was founded in 1976.
The evening begins with a reception at six o'clock, followed by dinner at seven. Guests will enjoy musical performances from and testimonials by Kolbe students, along with a live auction and a paddle raise. Cocktail attire.
Honoring Jo-Anne Jakab
This year's Gala honoree is Jo-Anne Jakab. Jo-Anne served and led the school for almost 50 years, from teacher to Principal to President to Board Member.
Also honored posthumously, as longtime benefactors and Board Members: Jonathan O'Herron, Sr., Paul Rodriguez, and Leo Van Munching, Jr.
Why it matters
Proceeds from the Gala provide scholarships and tuition assistance for talented students who otherwise could not afford to attend Kolbe. Roughly 60% of Kolbe students live under the poverty line, yet nearly 100% graduate in four years, and almost all receive some level of tuition assistance.

Individual tickets are $500. Table sponsorships range from the $10,000 Blue Table to the $25,000 Presenting Sponsorship, each with a reserved table for ten. See every sponsorship level and reserve your seat.
